Short Bio

Julian Heinovski is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Telecommunications Networks (TKN) group at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, TU Berlin, Germany. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Dept. of Computer Science, Paderborn University, Germany, in 2016 and 2018, respectively. In October 2018, he joined the Distributed Embedded Systems Group (CCS Labs) at Paderborn University as a researcher to work towards his PhD. In April 2020, he joined the Telecommunications Networks Group (TKN) at TU Berlin to continue to work towards his PhD. His research interest is in cooperative driving and intelligent transportation systems with a focus on vehicular platooning.

Julian is a Student Member of IEEE and ACM as well as a Member of, among others, IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). He served as a reviewer for various manuscripts in the field of vehicular networks, cooperative driving, and intelligent transportation systems (see full list). From May 2016 until December 2017, he was a (student) research assistant in the Distributed Embedded Systems Group (CCS Labs) at Paderborn University, where he received the Distinguished Student Award in 2017.
